Local Mental Health Grant Scheme
Applications are invited under the Local Mental Health Grant Scheme 2007-2008. The purpose of the scheme is to support and enhance the voluntary sector contribution to the care of people experiencing mental health problems, and their families and carers, in Wales. Volunteering in Wales Fund
WCVA's Volunteering in Wales Fund is now inviting applications for 2007/08. The scheme supports projects whose aims are mainly achieved by volunteers; that recruit and place volunteers; that develop good practice in volunteering; or that encourage activities in areas where volunteering is less well developed. The closing date is 29 September 2006. Application forms and guidelines are available from WCVA's Helpdesk on 0870 607 1666 or email help@wcva.org.uk.


Co-op Community Dividend Fund
Community and voluntary groups as well as charities are able to apply for funding of between £100 and £5,000 to support projects that benefit the local community. To be eligible, the project must benefit a local community in which at least one Co-operative group business trades. Applications can be made at any time. Commonwealth Foundation
The Commonwealth Foundation has issued guidelines for its 2006-07 grants to civil society organisations. Called Responsive Grants, the programme enables people from the Commonwealth to participate in activities such as short training courses, workshops, seminars, conferences, cultural festivals, exchanges and study visits in other Commonwealth countries. Launch of the Communities Investment Fund
- flexible finance for social enterprises -
The Communities Investment Fund will make long-term investments through a flexible loan funding package. This is supported by development grant assistance, which is aimed at helping organisations towards loan readiness. The Fund will help build the sustainability of voluntary organisations and community based social enterprises located in Communities First Objective One areas which are unable to raise sufficient funding from more conventional sources. Elder Abuse UK grants programme

Comic Relief has announced that the Elder Abuse UK Grants programme is now open to applications. One of the key aims of the programme is to support a wide range of different approaches to tackling elder abuse and to build up a range of ideas and techniques that can be shared. Enterprising Solutions 2006

The Enterprising Solutions Awards seek to celebrate the best social and community enterprises throughout the UK that are both well managed and passionate about social change. The closing date for entries is 7 July 2006. Further details are available from www.enterprisingsolutions.org.


GlaxoSmithKline Impact Awards
The Kings Fund, in association with GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) has announced that the next round of the Community Health IMPACT awards will be launched on the 23 June 2006. The awards are designed to recognise and reward the work of small to medium-sized voluntary organisations in the UK with a proven track record in community health care. New Ideas Fund
The Assembly Government's Social Justice and Regeneration Research and Information Unit are inviting research proposals under its New Ideas Fund. The Fund aims to support small-scale research projects that address themes within the Social Justice and Regeneration portfolio with clear relevance to the strategic objectives set out in Wales: A Better Country.
