Responsibilities of the Town Council

When Caldicot Town Council was formed in 1974 the then council decided to take over the control of the Caldicot Cemetery from the (old) Monmouth District Council. The George V Playing Fields was acquired by the local community by fundraising and was put into the George V Playing Field Trust for the community.

Within the playing fields is the Caldicot Bowling Green, two football pitches and a children's playground. There are two allotments at the top of Sandy Lane and in Oakley Way. Managing and maintaining The George V Playing Field, the Caldicot Bowling Club Green, the children's playground, the football pitches, the allotments and the Caldicot Cemetery by a Town Council is very expensive and takes a large slice of the Councils budget.
