Thank you all for you wonderful singing and backing you gave to our various groups during our 10th Anniversary Pageant.

The U3A choir gave the market people and their customers a treat when they sang for over an hour, a selection of popular carols.

The U3A choir is a good prescription for a healthy life, why not join us.

The Choir are undertaking an extensive concert schedule. On the 30th of September we performed for Risca U3A at their monthly meeting, on the 6th October for the Archway Club at Chepstow and on the 14th October for the Blind Club at Eton Road, Newport, three concerts in three weeks.

There are now more than twenty members in the Choir and they are turning their attention to the Christmas programme. It is proposed to hold a Christmas concert at Portskewett Recreation Hall on Monday, 20th December, at 2-30 pm, to which all U3A members are invited. There will be a varied programme with the opportunity for audience participation in community carol singing. See you there.

After losing members gradually during 2003, the situation was made worse when our accompanist, Beth, retired after 5 years. However, I am pleased to report that Mrs Eileen Chesworth has agreed to be our new pianist; Eileen was our accompanist when the group was first formed.

We are a happy Group and all enjoy our singing and making others feel good.

Many thanks to Eric Taylor for his services in keeping the Choir going.

Membership of our Group has grown to twenty, why not join us, you will be very warmly welcomed.

Joyce Davies.
