1 Start the walk at Dewstow Golf Club, Golf Range Car Park.

From the Car Park cross the road and take the lane to the right of the main Clubhouse. Walk until you reach a gate on the left with a signpost "Highmoor Hill".

2 Go through the gate on to the Golf Course. Watch out for flying Golf balls! Please respect golfers and pause whilst they are taking their shots.

Go straight ahead behind the green and the 15th tee, veering left below the hill to a dirt path and a pond 3 on the left. Cross the stile on the right and second stile, veer left up the bank and proceed until you reach a tarmac lane.

At the junction, turn right and then left over a stile 4 with a signpost to "Minnetts Wood". Go left across the field to a stile in the corner. Enter the wood and follow the path veering right until you see open fields on the right and go into the field via a stile. Walk straight down the hill to a stile and gate. There are lovely views of Grey Hill and Wentwood on your right. Go over the stile and onwards, turning right then left on to a broad forestry path. 5 (This used to be known as the "Kings Highway" and was the main thoroughfare between Caerwent and Rogiet).

Proceed on this path for half a mile, pausing to appreciate the vista to the Severn Estuary, until you come to a Gwent Wild Life Trust Reserve on the left. A few yards past this is a stile; 6 cross this and climb the hill, making for the stile near Windwill Cottage. The remains of the windmill are now covered with ivy. Turn left to the wood, cross the stile and enter the wood called Rogiet Brake. 7 Take the right hand path, then turn right and follow the wire fence until you reach the Golf Course. 8

Turn right, go up the hill and turn left to walk past the Totem Pole, carved by a local craftsman. Continue across the course to the road. Turn right and then left at the junction

On your right you will see a stile 9 up a couple of steps. (At this point you can return to the Golf Range Car Park, via the road). Cross this and go straight ahead for 100 yards (app.) to the top of the course where two paths join (one is short to a golf tee).

Take the longer one which bisects the course with a line of trees on your left. Follow the path down through the course, noting the lovely views all round until the path finishes. Carry on in the straight line of the path to the hedge at the bottom of the course. 10 Turn left, following the hedge line to your right, turning left again following the edge of the course. In 125 yards (app.) there is a stile on your right; 11 go over this following the path which brings you to your starting point.
