1 Start with the walk at Devauden Green facing the main road; walk left, past the Post Office and turn right by the Chapel, signposted "Craigiau Cole Lane." 2
Continue right; then second left, signposted "New Inn"; on to a gritty track until you reach a cross roads 3 and a finger post, pointing downhill to a wooded area. Proceed through the plantation, turning right when you reach the forestry path. Follow the path round to the left and keep straight on through a thicket to a stile at the end.
On your left are 2 gates. Go through the left gate and keep to the path alongside the hedge to the corner. Proceed through the gate on the right; almost doubling back on yourself until you reach Panta Farm drive. 4
Over to your left is Wenallt Great Wood. Turn right and almost immediately left through the gate near the barn. Walk downhill to the gate in the left corner and cross the stream. The path takes you uphill, through a gate and along to a gap in the hedge on your left. Walk downhill to a style leading to Fedw Pool. 5. This area is called "The Cot". Turn left over the wooden bridge, and go right across the top of the pond. Follow path and waymarkers to the road. Turn right and proceed along the road until you reach a grassy path on the left, with a finger post high in the hedge. This path leads to "New Wood" 6.
The steep track leads to the road which you cross to enter Chepstow Park Wood. There is a way marker on the right which directs you into the wood. (For an easier version, keep to the forestry path, until you come to a way marker on the right, then follow the directions as the main walk).
Follow the path upwards, emerging on to the Forestry path. Turn right and walk to where the path goes off to the left. Re-enter the wood at the way marker on the right and follow the way markers taking the middle route, again emerging on to the Forestry path. Turn left and almost immediately right to re-enter the wood, following the path back to the start point at Devauden Green.
