From the Coldra roundabout (junction 24 on the M4) take the A48 towards Chepstow. Park at The Foresters Oaks Public House. Alternatively a regular bus service between Newport and Chepstow (via Caerwent) - Service numbers 74 and 73 - passes The Foresters Oaks.

Parking/Start: At The Foresters Oaks Public House, on the A48 at Langstone, near Newport.

1 Walk up the lane from the Car Park, past The Foresters Oaks Public House, bear right into the Churchyard and left over a stile. Proceed across three fields then across a stile into a small wooded area. Cross the next stile into a field. Walk along the field to a stile in the corner, next to a stable.

Bear right and walk across the field to a stile and then along the garden fence of Llandevaud Mill 2, climbing some steps to a stile and keeping the hedge to your right, cross three fields to the next stile. Then bear slightly left, up the field to a stile next to a metal gate.

Follow the waymarker to reach a wooden gate and walk across a lawn to a stone stile and onto a lane (Ford Farm) 3 and left along the lane to reach the road.

Carefully cross the road, turn right and walk approximately 100 yards to the footpath sign by the Nursery, and over the stile (keeping the hedge to your right) to a stone stile in the right hand corner 4. After the stile bear slightly left across the field to a marker post, then follow the hedge line to the rear of The New Inn Public House.

Carefully cross the A48 road and turn right, then left into Tregarn Road. Then left over a stile by the Post Office and follow the path to the next stile. Bear slightly right and walk across two fields to a stile leading onto a Roman Road 5.

Turn right and cross the road to a stile on the left. Walk up the hill across the field to a stile in the top corner. Walk straight ahead through two fields to a stile by an oak tree.

Continue along the hedge to a gap on the left, walk through (keeping the hedge to your left) to a stile in the top left hand corner.

Walk straight ahead through three fields and over a stile into a paddock, then through a gate into a farmyard 6.

Turn right down a grass track opposite the cottage and continue to Caerlycyn Lane. Turn right and continue down the lane to a stile on the left of Seymour Cottage.

Follow the path to a stile into a field, keeping the hedge on your left, follow the path through two fields to reach the stile on the A48. Turn left and carefully cross the road to reach your starting point at the Foresters Oak
